Michelle Desnoyers originally aspired to be a hotel general manager with hospitality and tourism management as her program of study in university.  Being sometimes beneficially argumentative during her information systems elective class, however, prompted her instructor to unknowingly prophesize in her yearbook ‘Wishing you a great career in IT’.  Upon completion of her program, her first employment opportunity was unexpectedly a ‘temporary’ position in IT.  She then remained with ATCO, and subsequently Wipro, for more than 25 years as she journeyed through the multiple realms of information security and cybersecurity.  Her career has spanned from mainframe access management to managing cybersecurity operations with both local and off-shore team members.  Michelle recently joined Alberta Pensions Services as their Corporate Information Security Officer where she  enjoys sharing her passion for cybersecurity and its capability to facilitate positive change and growth.
